Meet Nicholas

With roots in Yorkshire and training from Cambridge and the Guildhall School of Music, Nicholas brings a lifetime of musical passion to every lesson and performance. His career spans piano teaching, organ performance, and music therapy—blending classical precision with a deeply human touch. From accompanying choirs to mentoring young musicians, Nicholas’s work is guided by sensitivity, artistry, and a love for sharing music.

Nicholas also serves as the accompanist for ChildrenSong of New Jersey, working with young choristers since 2007. His background in music and therapy supports his commitment to youth outreach.

Whether you’re preparing for a recital, competition, or audition, Nicholas offers professional piano accompaniment marked by sensitivity and precision. He works with vocalists, instrumentalists, and ensembles, either in his home studio or at your location—and yes, he brings the piano if needed. Flexible scheduling, warm collaboration, and a love for the craft set his accompaniment apart.

Start on the Right Note

Helpful answers for new students and families.

  • Students can be as young as age 4 to start.

  • Most definitely!

  • Lessons are weekly and can be 1/2 hr to 1 hr depending on the age of the student.

  • I always like to meet with the parents and the student before our first lesson to talk about lessons and learning the piano to see if this could be a good fit.

  • Yes, in the suzuki method this comes later but it is still an essential skill and part of study. Every child’s unique readiness is taken into consideration.

  • I always say "5 alive" 5 days of practice in addition to practice day. Try to keep practice sessions the same amount of time that the session is.
